Sexual Assault Center Clinician
The Sexual Assault Clinician is responsible for providing crisis-intervention, counseling and advocacy to victims of sexual assault/abuse and their families. This involves psychosocial assessment, person-centered treatment planning, treatment sessions, progress evaluations, and termination services with clients. Travel is required for this position including short trips to meetings, to perform group services, or attend conferences.
The Sexual Assault Clinician shall possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in Social Work or an MA in a Counseling related field from an accredited university. This individual shall demonstrate a thorough understanding of sexual assault/abuse issues surrounding victimization and have the ability to provide therapeutic counseling to individuals and groups.This individual will also work as an advocate for victims on an individual and group basis and will be required to coordinate and collaborate with a variety of different public and private service agencies.
Personal qualities should include being a compassionate, nonjudgmental, good listener with the ability to be patient, and empathetic with victims and family members. This individual should demonstrate the ability to research clinical techniques and possess organizational skills. Additional qualities consist of self-awareness, confidentiality, being able to counsel, educate and offer resources to clients and families.
