CARF

Psychiatric Consultation

Emotional health consist of a sense of well-roundedness - with attention to mind, body, spirit, creativity, intellectual development, and health.

Child & Family Services contracts with medical doctors who are Board Certified psychiatrists. The doctors specialize in treating people who are having troubles with their moods and/or thoughts, psychopharmacology and medication management. A psychiatrist will only be utilized when the client and therapist feel it would be helpful in the therapeutic process.

The psychiatrist will review the medical history of each client referred, complete a psychiatric evaluation and recommend a course of treatment. The psychiatrist will continue to work with clients as long as they are actively attending counseling at C&FS. Clients who are only interested in medication management must find psychiatric services at another agency.
